Research Assistant - Shared Education (Part-Time)

This post is available until 30 April 2020 in the first instance working 22.2 hours per week to be an active member of the Centre for Shared Education (CSE), assisting in the development, delivery and evaluation of resource materials for use in educational settings aimed at promoting more positive intergroup relations, particularly in the context of divided societies, and contributing to the development of new strands of work as opportunities arise.

This post requires an individual with commitment to the promotion of enhanced intergroup relationships through education, and with a skill set to develop resources and materials that could be used in the furtherance of this objective. The successful candidate will assist with the development of the education and programme strands of CSE activity and will work in local and international settings in line with Centre objectives to globalise the shared education model.

The successful candidate must have:

  • An upper second class honours degree (or equivalent) or a Master’s degree in social science, statistics, or other relevant discipline.
  • Teaching experience in a school setting.
  • Evidence of having developed materials and resources for use in educational contexts.
  • Demonstrable ability to contribute to broader management and administrative processes.
  • Understanding of current thinking in respect of multicultural and critical educational research and theory.

Salary scale: £27,285 - £31,604 per annum pro rata (potential to progress to £34,520 per annum pro rata through sustained exceptional contribution).
