Assistant Information Manager

Salary: UH7 £32,548 to £35,550 pro rata pa with potential to progress to £38,833 pro rata pa by annual increments on achieving designated skills and experience.

FTE: 0.5 FTE working 18.5 hours per week

Would you like to work with students and academics in a busy, stimulating and thriving University? This post offers you an exciting opportunity to work creatively and collaboratively with our team of information professionals in Academic Engagement.  Based in the University’s Library and Computing Services department you will work closely with the Training and Development Coordinator and Information Managers to design and deliver our activity-based Engagement Programme to Academic Schools.

You will have a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of digital and information literacy skills training to students from Induction to Final Year and the roll out of library innovation projects such as our new reading list management system, as part of our core service delivery.  Duties will be flexible to support a range of services delivered by our Academic Resources Teams.

Although mainly based in the Learning Resources Centres at College Lane and de Havilland you may well be required to support our Engagement presence at various venues and events as part of working collegially within the broader University Community.

Postgraduate professional qualification in librarianship or information science OR an equivalent qualification. Proven experience of developing and promoting information services and support for learning and teaching are desirable. Good communication, interpersonal, persuasion and negotiating skills are essential. Ability to prioritise, exercise good time management and organisational skills to meet deadlines is also essential for this role.
