Graduate Teaching Assistant

This is an exciting new role which will allow the post holder to study for a PhD in a related subject whilst contributing to student learning, undertaking teaching activities in the area of Agriculture and Agricultural Business Management.

Applications are invited for the post of Graduate Teaching Assistant in Agricultural Business Management within the School of Agriculture, Policy and Development. This is an exciting new role which will allow the post holder to study for a PhD in a related subject whilst contributing to student learning, undertaking teaching activities in the area of Agriculture and Agricultural Business Management. The post is full-time for a fixed period of 4 years during which the post holder will be paid a salary (circa £6K) and stipend roughly equivalent to £11K per annum and will have PhD fees waived.

The School has a range of world class teaching and research facilities, a sizable and vibrant PhD community

The appointee is expected to pursue doctoral research in an area relevant to Agricultural Business Management and to contribute to the educational activities of the School.

You will have:

  • Excellent verbal, digital and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide clear feedback to students and peers in a clear and constructive way.
  • A BA or BSc in a relevant area equivalent to Upper Second Class or above.
  • Meet the academic and language requirements for a PhD offer from the University of Reading.
  • Knowledge of farm business management, business planning and control.
  • Experience of working in the agricultural sector.
