The College of Engineering Design and Physical Sciences comprises six academic departments delivering education programmes to approximately 5000 students. We are seeking a confident proactive and experienced individual to join our team as Finance and Operations Manager. In this role you will manage the College finance research support and planning functions in addition to providing business support to our Heads of Department. You will also work closely with the College’s senior academic managers in facilitating the positive progress of the College’s Strategic Plan and supporting initiatives. In doing so you will be able to utilize strong financial and analytical skills honed in a financial or similar operating environment. You will also be capable of developing new systems and processes to drive business improvement and have the ability to plan and manage change in a diverse stakeholder environment.

The post requires an experienced manager who will be able to build develop effectively and lead a diverse interdisciplinary team and set a clear direction across a range of business areas. You should also be able to demonstrate a well-developed interpersonal approach with the ability to exercise influence and diplomacy and to build credibility within the College and the wider University community.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual wishing to develop a career in the Higher Education sector at a time of significant development and change. A background in Higher Education is not necessarily required however an appreciation of operational administration in the HE environment would be an advantage for this particular role. A professional qualification in accountancy or relevant business- or finance-related degree such as MBA is required for this post.
