The Blavatnik School of Government is seeking a dynamic and driven Admissions Officer to play an exciting and pivotal role in the school’s work on recruiting and admitting outstanding applicants from around the globe for its world-leading Master of Public Policy and DPhil in Public Policy degrees.

The postholder will be responsible for our admissions process; ensuring tasks are completed on time and that candidates, successful or otherwise, have an excellent experience of the school. They will contribute to the general strategic development of the work of the team, help develop approaches that most effectively enhance attempts to attract the most outstanding applicants from around the world, and manage a smooth and effective assessment system. The postholder will also play a leading role in identifying appropriate scholarships for incoming students, making sure incoming students have secured a college place, and ensure all incoming students have met any conditions attached to their offer, assisting with visa applications where relevant. In addition, the postholder will provide line-management for the work of the Admissions Assistant.

The successful candidate should have proven experience and a clear understanding of the important aspects of working within a customer-focused environment, and experience of managing complex data and applicable software platforms. They should have demonstrable interpersonal skills and the ability to identify and use tact and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential data and situations. They should also have outstanding communication, organisational and IT skills (particularly Excel), and have the ability to learn new systems. An undergraduate degree (or equivalent), alongside demonstrable intelligence and judgment, is essential.
