Director of Academic Credit Recognition

GUS Services UK Limited

Are you a senior manager or director with a broad experience of implementing and delivering innovative new policy initiatives at an institutional level?

Would you relish a new challenge to spearhead an exciting new initiative at the largest privately-owed education provider in the UK?

Do you have a keen interest in widening participation and access to Higher and Further Education?

The creation of a Centre for Academic Recognition is part of Global University Systems Group’s positive response to the challenges to higher education providers posed in recent months by the National Audit Office, successive Ministers of Higher Education, and most recently by the Prime Minister. The Group and its constituent institutions are determined to play a leading role in broadening student access and facilitating student mobility.

Your background in implementing Higher Education policy and strategy at a senior level will be key to establishing a new Centre for Academic Credit Recognition. You will be responsible for developing policies and systems that reflect sector best practice and recruiting a team of specialist staff to evolve a strategy that puts GUS institutions and partners around the globe at the forefront of this new approach to recruiting students through recognition of the full extent of their experience as well as their academic background.

The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting access to higher education and be able to display a good understanding and substantial experience of implementing and embedding similar new initiatives at an institutional level. Evaluation and recognition of both experiential learning, usually evidenced by an applicant’s CV and references; and prior learning, usually evidenced by certificates and diplomas, will be at the heart of this new transformational approach to recruiting and selecting students.

This new Directorship will be a pivotal member of the Global University Systems Group management team and rewarded correspondingly.

Expressions of preliminary interest, supported by biographical career information, and requests for further information about GUS and the role should be submitted in confidence to:
