Lecturer - Journalism

Robert Gordon University - The School of Creative and Cultural Business

The School of Creative and Cultural Business seeks to appoint two Lecturers in Journalism to join its dynamic team. Both a full time post and a part-time (0.5) post are available. These important roles are required to contribute to the high-quality delivery within the rapidly evolving field of journalism at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

You will have significant knowledge and subject expertise evidenced by related teaching and research and/or relevant work experience and be able to foster and develop collaborative links with academic, business, third sector and public-sector partners.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a major contribution to the development and enhancement of this subject area. The School has developed significant expertise in the creative industries and has ambitious research plans going forward. The successful candidate will be expected to play a strategic role in extending this body of knowledge.

This is your opportunity to be part of that amazing journey and join our 1500 colleagues who already enjoy the vibrant community, richly rewarding work and lifestyle afforded by generous holidays (46 days per annum) and flexible working options.

While you develop your career, we’ll be looking after your future, with generous pension contributions and state of the art facilities at our stunning riverside campus at Garthdee.

Salary on appointment will be dependent upon experience. Candidates with limited/no lecturing experience will be placed on the first point of the scale, although consideration will be given to a market supplement (reviewed bi-annually) for those with specific industry experience.
