The School of Education and English is now seeking exceptional scholars to join us as Assistant Professors/Associate Professors/Professors in the field of Education, Applied Linguistics, and Translation and Interpreting 

About the School

This is an exciting opportunity to join the School of Education and English at UNNC where schools in UK and Malaysia are brought together, providing the opportunities, the expertise and the skills for our academics to work together on programmes and projects involving Applied Linguistics, International Higher Education, Translation and Interpreting, Cognitive Neuroscience, Literature and Drama, and many other fields. The School of Education and English provides various opportunities for research activities, which is further enhanced by the state-or-art laboratories and academics who are highly influential in their respective fields. The diverse and inclusive environment enable pioneering research in areas of Psycholinguistics, Intercultural Communication, Multilingualism, Educational Leadership Language Education (TESOL), Translation and Interpreting, and Higher Education. About You 

We seek to appoint you if you are experienced, self-driven, creative and results oriented, with good record of internationally recognized research publications. You will be at professor or associate professor level specializing in an area that is related to education, ideally with more than 5 years (for associate professor) and ideally more than 8 years (for professor) of working experience in institutions of higher learning. Preference will be given to your experience in leadership roles, good teaching records, and building and leading in research or innovative teaching practices. 

You will be called upon to mentor early career researchers and junior colleagues in areas of teaching and research. You should be able to motivate colleagues and work as a team and create a strong learning community within the school. You will be able to forge partnership with other faculties and institutions to bring in opportunities for the expansion of the school in terms of multi-disciplinary collaboration and contribute to the society. You should possess strong management skills and the ability to solve problems to ensure a smooth running of the school. You are expected to contribute to the development of the school in line with the university values. 

Your Remuneration, Benefits and Support 

The successful candidate will be offered a five-year contract that may be extended by mutual agreement.
