How to advertise
We try to make the process of advertising with us as simple and effective as possible – for a step by step guide see below.
Before placing an advert with us though, please take a moment to read our policies on composite/ multiple vacancy adverts and discrimination in advertising.
These policies are essential to maintaining the quality and effectiveness of the site as well as complying to recruitment advertising law and may have a direct impact on the advert(s) you wish to place.
If you have any additional questions you please contact us
Essential Policies
- Composite/ Multiple Vacancy Adverts
-
It is our policy not to place composite adverts or multiple vacancies as a single placement on jobs.ac.uk. The reasons for this are two fold,
- The way we index adverts. In order to deliver to you the greatest number of applications, from the highest quality candidates, we need to place adverts in the correct categories so that job seekers are able to accurately search for jobs.
- Best Results. Simply put, individual adverts get better results for recruiters. More detailed job adverts, accurate job titles and subject areas allow jobseekers to easily find and identify vacancies that are relevant to them. With 3,000+ adverts on the site at any one time vague/composite job titles and subject areas are easily overlooked.
Studentship adverts - For studentships we highly recommend individual adverts for each project to get the best results. However we recognise that in some cases studentship advertising requires a different approach to job advertising, e.g. when projects are flexible or subject areas not completely defined. We will therefore accept composite/ multiple vacancy adverts for studentships if the advert satisfies the following criteria;
- The projects listed do not have individual descriptions
- The projects all fall into the same jobs.ac.uk subject area and have the same closing date
- The advert is no longer than an A4 page of text
- Discrimination Laws & Guidelines
-
Please ensure your advert does not include any direct or indirect discriminatory text. UK laws exist to prevent discrimination on the grounds of race, disability, gender, age, sexual orientation and religious belief.

What Happens Next?
Basic adverts will normally be accessible on jobs.ac.uk within two working days of receipt and enhanced adverts within three working days. You will receive a Statement of Placement by email at midnight on the day of placement, confirming both the placement and your invoicing details.
On the closing date of the advert (or after 2 months if no closing date is given), it will be automatically removed from jobs.ac.uk. A Notification of Removal will then be sent to you by e-mail. Just for your records, the notification also details how many times your advert was read whilst it was on the site.
Amendments
We are happy to amend an advert that has yet to be placed – simply email the complete amended copy text to adverts@jobs.ac.uk with ‘AMENDMENT’ in the subject line. We will also make minor amendments to live adverts free of charge.
Payment
We will then send you an invoice (unless you pay by annual subscription). Invoices are normally sent to one of your central administrative offices, such as the Personnel Office. Please make cheques payable to “Warwick University Services Ltd”.
