The College of Social Sciences and Arts (SSA) is the largest of Sheffield Hallam’s three colleges. SSA brings together the disciplines of architecture, geography, environment, English, history, film, stage and screen performance, psychology, sociology, politics, law, criminology, art and design, media arts and communication, and education.

Our academic and research focus is on the arts and humanities, ‘space and place’, the applied social sciences and education. Teaching and research staff work together with professional services colleagues to support the delivery of courses, research and other income generating activity across our areas of specialism.

As well as having their own specific responsibilities, both of these two senior academic posts will play an active role in supporting the Dean of College with business, financial and people planning, as part of the college leadership team.
