The Animal and Plant Health Agency
Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA)
Virology Laboratory Scientist
At the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA), we have a mission we’re very serious about: safeguarding animal and plant health for the benefit of people, the environment and the economy.

The Virology department currently has an opportunity for three EO-level Laboratory Scientists to join our important mission to support international trade as the United Kingdom exits the European Union.

You will ideally have a valid driving license, and you will be a decisive leader with excellent communication skills and the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment. With a biological science degree, you will have a good awareness of quality standards (UKAS17025, ISO9001) and you will be SAPO/ACDP compliant. It would also be desirable if you have post-graduate experience or a relevant qualification. Crucially, you will have technical laboratory experience in some of the following areas: classical virology, molecular biology, serology assays or data analysis software packages.
