The Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park is a technology park in the Pudong district of Shanghai. The park specialises in research in life sciences, software, semiconductors, and information technology. As of 2009, there were 110 research and development institutions, 3,600 companies and 100,000 works located in the technology park. In some circles the park is also known as China's Silicon Valley.
Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park can be reached via the inner or outer ring roads that serve the Shanghai metropolitan area. The park is 3.6km from Nanpu Bridge and 13km from People's Square. It is 9km from The Bund. It is 21km from Pudong Airport and 25km from Hongqiao Airport.
The recreation athletic centre is located in the residential part of ShanghaiTech campus. The centre has an array of sports facilities, such as indoor badminton and basketball courts, table tennis tables and a fitness centre. Major university events, such as opening and graduation ceremonies, are also held there annually. A track field area is located next to the recreation centre for all your outdoor activities, including a 400m track, tennis and basketball courts, football field, and some public fitness facilities to suit your workout needs or to just have some fun!
The university offers on-campus housing for faculty members. Tenure and tenure-track faculty members are entitled to rent apartments with areas 80m2 to 120m2at well below market price. Dining halls, restaurants, café and convenience store are also available on campus.
A number of international schools have campuses in Zhangjiang High-Tech Park. The affiliated school to ShanghaiTech university is also opening.
