In the School of Psychology at Roehampton we advance knowledge in mental health and wellbeing. Our state-of-the-art facilities, labs and studios, support practice informed teaching from experts and participatory, experiential learning that prepares students to utilise a breadth of opportunities for work experience and community engagement. Staff and students have access to a world class library and state of the art facilities that include an fMRI scanner, a fully equipped psychology lab, a psychological therapy suite and art, dance, music and play therapy studios.
Based in Whitelands College, the School of Psychology is committed to delivering outstanding student outcomes and making a positive impact on society through its world-leading research and its community-based knowledge exchange. Supporting local, national, and global communities, our work enhances and saves lives, supports the regeneration of the world around us and shapes government policy that touches on every aspect of society.
The School has successful partnerships with NHS, third sector and private organisations, notably with London NHS Trusts, IAPT services across the country, Mind Brent Westminster and Wandsworth, Holybourne Hospital and others. Through partnerships we deliver impactful outcomes to the community and vulnerable populations. We substantially enhance staff opportunities to engage in funded projects and students' employment experience. Our students are supported by an extensive placement network of more than 400 placement providers spanning a range of mental health services across public, private, education and voluntary sectors.
