Senior Lecturer / Lecturer roles in China

University of the West of Scotland (UWS) is one of Scotland’s most innovative modern universities. The University has long-standing links with educational partners in China and is delighted to promote these opportunities in the UWS School of Computing, Engineering & Physical Sciences under an exciting partnership with Wuxi Taihu University in Jiangsu Province.

The partnership has seen the creation of The Scotland Academy – a joint institute which received full approval from the Chinese Ministry of Education in 2020. From the Academy on Wuxi Taihu University campus, UWS undergraduate programmes will be offered, delivered in English, to prepare students for work with international companies and in the international job market.

Academic roles are offered under this partnership as:

  • Senior Lecturer in Computer Networking
  • Lecturer in Computer Networking
  • Lecturer in Engineering/Construction Management
  • Lecturer in Web and Mobile Development

The posts are offered in the first instance as fixed term for 3 years, extendable, subject to performance.

These UWS posts will be based in The Scotland Academy. As a successful candidate you will join the academic team at Wuxi Taihu University to contribute to teaching and programme delivery in The Scotland Academy. You will also have the opportunity to develop your research with UWS in collaboration with Wuxi Taihu University and other UWS partners worldwide.

A relocation, health cover and accommodation package will be offered to successful candidates. Candidates should be eligible for a Chinese visa and be available to start in August 2021.
