UWE Bristol

In order to achieve the vision set out in the university’s Strategy 2030, UWE Bristol needs to be in the optimal position to successfully compete in complex and fast changing environments. Solving the global challenges of today and tomorrow demands collaboration and cooperation and therefore we have considered the organisation of the University to ensure it best speaks to and engages our external audiences, prospective students and the partners that are essential to the delivery of our Strategy 2030.

Consequently we are to moving from a four faculty to a three college academic structure, building on our firm foundations and taking the opportunity to consider how we showcase our subjects in the best possible way.

Our intention is that the three colleges will provide a stable academic structure to enable our strategy, focusing on delivering a high quality and consistent student experience, alongside our ambition to grow our research capacity and capability. The changes to our structures will also enable us to regroup and reimagine our core purpose and ways of working, as we consider how the University needs to adapt following our shared experiences during the pandemic.

The three colleges will be:

College of Arts, Technology and Environment

  • School of Architecture and Environment
  • School of Engineering
  • School of Computing and Creative Technologies
  • School of Art, Design, Culture and Media

College of Business and Law

  • Bristol Business School
  • Bristol Law School

College of Health, Science and Society

  • School of Health and Social Wellbeing
  • School of Applied Sciences
  • School of Social Sciences
  • School of Education and Childhood

Colleges will be operational from 1 September 2022, under the leadership of the PVC Heads of College, with a phased approach being taken over the course of the next academic session. This will enable all of our systems, processes, communications and ways of working to be aligned by the 2023-24 academic year.

In order to facilitate this change, we are looking to recruit high calibre individuals to occupy the following newly created posts:
