Teaching Fellow in Medieval French Studies

The salary will be paid at Grade 6, £33.518 to £39,992 per annum, plus £2,923 per annum London Allowance.

King's College London wishes to appoint a 2-year fixed term Teaching Fellow in Medieval French Studies. You will contribute teaching and supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the area of pre-modern French Studies; you will also contribute teaching for other core elements of the syllabus of programmes in French and engage fully in the educational strategy of the Department.

As role holder, you will undertake pastoral tutorial duties and contribute to the academic administrative duties of the Department of French as instructed by the Head of Department.  As a guideline the Faculty’s workload model stipulates that full time Teaching Fellows will normally have 160-225 contact hours per year (equivalent to c.8-11 contact hours per week in term time, the precise number of hours reflecting the nature of the teaching and the experience of the Teaching Fellow).

The selection process will include a teaching presentation and a panel interview.

You will have or be near to completion of a PhD in the area of medieval French studies. You will have experience of teaching at University level and native or near-native fluency in French.
