PhD Studentship in Clinical Exercise Physiology

Bangor University - School of Sport, Health, and Exercise Sciences

*plus £2,000 per annum paid monthly in return for a contribution to School activities of 100 hours per annum.

Applications are invited for a three year, full time PhD studentship funded by the School of Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences at Bangor University. The successful candidate will be supervised by Jamie Macdonald PhD and Aamer Sandoo PhD from the Physical Activity for Health and Wellbeing Centre (Canalfon PAWB Centre).

The successful candidate will use cross sectional and interventional study designs to investigate the role of vessel health in vascular access and disease progression. The project will build on existing collaborations with the Ysbyty Gwynedd Renal Unit, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (Consultant Clinicians Drs. Jibani, Alejmi and Shrikanth), and Kings College London (Consultant Physiotherapist Sharlene Greenwood PhD).

Eligibility depends on your ability to register as a home/EU student (students from other countries may apply but must be prepared to pay Bangor University international student fees).

Successful applicants will normally have a Masters degree or a First Class Honours Degree in sport science, physiology or a health-related science subject.
