The Centre for Cancer Research and Cell Biology (CCRCB) at Queen’s is a cross-Faculty, interdisciplinary research centre with over 300 clinical and basic researchers from across the world and is committed to the highest quality of research excellence. To achieve our mission, we are pursuing the highest quality clinical and basic science research programmes. The hallmark of our research programme is a close, collaborative interaction between clinical and laboratory research experts that ultimately enhances the quality and scope of our integrated basic and clinical research programmes in cancer as well as other diseases.

This post is available for 28 months to contribute to ongoing studies of the underlying functional mechanisms by which common and rare germline variation confers risk of breast and other cancers using a variety of molecular biology techniques, including CRISPR and chromatin conformation capture.

The successful candidate must have:

  • Hold a BSc in Molecular Biology, Genetics or a closely related area
  • At least one year of relevant laboratory experience (e.g. molecular biology, cancer genomics).
  • Experience with cell culture
  • Competent in formulating and delivering oral and written presentations
  • Good laboratory practice

Salary scale: £27,285 - £31,604 per annum (potential to progress to £34,520 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution)
