Digital Media and Communications Officer

Applications are invited for the post of Digital Media and Communications Officer within the Blizard Institute, Queen Mary University of London. The Blizard Institute is the largest institute of Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry and aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.

The post holder will coordinate and maintain the on-going re-development of the Institute's web presence and will help develop and deliver the Institute’s internal and external communications strategy. They will also support the expansion of the Institute's social media presence, in order to deliver its strategic priorities and objectives. In addition to this, the post holder will be responsible for facilitating and strengthening the Institute community and will promote and organise a range of events within the Institute.

The successful candidate should have a degree and/or significant vocational experience in the fields of communications and marketing, as well as experience maintaining and developing websites using a Content Management System. They will possess excellent organisational skills, including the ability to work to tight deadlines and to prioritise workloads and be able to work effectively with colleagues across an organisation at all levels.

The post is full time (35 hours per week), permanent appointment, with an expected start date of July2018. Starting salary will be in the range of £32,956 - £38,709 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
