Senior Information Security Consultant

The University of Edinburgh - The Directorate

The University's Chief Information Security Officer is seeking an experienced information security practitioner to join the Information Security Directorate.

You will help develop and support the delivery of information security services across the University. The Directorate is responsible for leading and owning the University information security risk management strategy, encouraging a risk based approach and providing holistic responses to information security risks. It leads on pan-University information security initiatives, provides strategic advice and guidance to all areas of the University on existing and emerging information security threats, and delivers security awareness training to support this.

You will help develop, implement and embed an effective information security governance framework to include strategy, policy and deployment plan based on industry good standards and recognised practise to ensure the University manages its information risk profile within appetite. There is also a requirement to take a leading role in information security incident management, working with stakeholders across Information Services Group and the wider University community to identify appropriate solutions and ensure that required follow up actions and reporting are undertaken in a timely manner.

This is a great opportunity to take up a senior position in our dynamic, friendly and supportive team at a world-leading centre of academic excellence.

We anticipate interviews will be held mid to late June 2018.

Closing date: Friday 8th June 2018 at 5pm (GMT).
