Research Associate/Fellow (fixed-term)

Location: University Park
Salary: £26,495 to £38,833 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

This post will be offered for six months and will recruit a talented, proactive postdoctoral researcher to work in Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre on an exciting interdisciplinary, collaborative and translational project funded by the Medical Research Council, UK. The role holder will join an established team, led by Professor Thomas Meersmann, whose main areas of research interest include hyperpolarisation and sodium MRI methodologies for healthcare applications. 

The successful candidate will combine excellence in research, collaboration, team work, communication and meeting deadline skills and will work on the development of dual proton/sodium NMR and MRI low field sensors for healthcare applications. Researchers experienced MR acquisition methods in inhomogeneous fields, broad lines and solid state NMR of higher spins are encouraged to apply for this post.

The person appointed will have the opportunity to use their initiative and creativity to identify areas for research, develop research methods and extend their research portfolio.
