The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering has a strong globalisation agenda and is strongly linked between the three University of Nottingham International Campuses, i.e. in UK, Malaysia and China campuses. It is expected that the successful candidate will support the globalisation efforts of the Department and support teaching activity and joint research programmes across the campuses. 

Candidates should have a PhD or equivalent and post-doctoral academic research experience in a field related to electrical and electronic engineering. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in radio frequency (rf) electronics or other high frequency areas; digital or analogue devices including high voltage semiconductor devices; semiconductor manufacturing and technology; and analogue or mixed signal design. It is required that the candidate has strong academic expertise and a knowledge of applications in his or her area of research. It is an advantage if the candidate can demonstrate experience in research leadership with a proven track record in project management.

The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and to supervise undergraduate and masters dissertations. The person appointed will be expected to conduct original research in appropriate fields and play a lead role in collaborative research projects, leading to high quality publications and grant income. The successful candidate will also be expected to assist with the administration of the Department and contribute to the Department’s excellent reputation in the field of Electrical and Electronic Engineering education and research.

Salary will be within the range of £35,550 – £47,722 per annum depending on skills and experience (salary progression beyond this is subject to performance). In addition, an attractive package including accommodation allowance, travel allowance and insurance will be provided for international appointments. This post is available from September 2018 and will initially be offered on a fixed-term contract with the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China for a period of up to five years. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement.
