The Leeds Business School seeks to appoint a new Head of the PR and Journalism Subject Group (with potential consideration for Readership or Professorship), a nationally leading and globally recognised subject group that was ranked 4th in the Guardian League Table in 2017. The ideal candidate will be a world-leading academic in research, teaching and leadership.

As Head of Subject for the PR and Journalism Subject Group you will be responsible for providing academic leadership, ensuring the development and enhancement of the subject area as well as its regional, national and international reputation.

You will need to be established in your academic discipline, and able to demonstrate academic leadership through an established record of teaching, research and / or professional practice in your subject area.

This role will be critical to the successful development and implementation of our Strategic Plan and will contribute to the School’s research and enterprise strategies.

You will significantly advance the Subject Group’s strategic goals of international excellence in teaching and research in the study of strategic communication, journalism, media, PR and communication.

This is a senior academic leadership post, presenting exciting opportunities for the right candidate who may also be considered for Readership or Professorship. We welcome applications from scholars with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Public relations, journalism, media, digital communication, strategic communication and communication studies.
