Lecturer or Senior Lecturer Professional Practice

Middlesex University

We wish to recruit two full time Lecturer/Senior Lecturers in Professional Practice who have experience of working in professional practice and work based learning programmes in higher and/or further education. We are seeking applications from candidates with relevant academic and professional qualifications who can strengthen the university’s academic profile and enhance teaching, learning and research in practice and work based learning and who have an interest in developing their own professional practice in new areas. The successful candidates will work principally on delivering and developing the university’s expanding portfolio of Professional Practice programmes in aviation. However, it should be noted that experience of working in or with the aviation sector is not essential and we particularly welcome applications from candidates with the experience and transferable skills of supporting practice based students in other public or private employment sectors. The Professional Aviation Pilot Practice degrees are training/work based with a strong focus on developing new commercial pilots as reflective practitioners and this informs teaching, learning and assessment. Experience or knowledge of working with and supporting students through a VLE will also be an advantage.

These roles will be held by colleagues who welcome innovation and teamwork and a strong student facing role who can combine excellent teaching, learning, research and knowledge transfer with a demonstrable commitment to supporting and developing work-based, professional and reflective practice. Appointments will be made according to qualifications and experience.
