The UCD School of Computer Science is Ireland’s leading computer science School in terms of teaching and research. It offers teaching programmes at BSc and Masters level that attract top students from Ireland and overseas. The staff are active in research and have leadership positions in research programmes such as Lero (www.lero.ie), Consus (consus.ie) and the Insight Centre for Data Analytics (insight-centre.org)
The School is committed to excellence in teaching and research and to supporting the Information & Communications Technology sector that is such an important part of the Irish economy. In order to address the demand for graduates and postgraduates in Computer Science, the School is recruiting a number of lecturers to support the expansion of the BSc and MSc programmes.
These new lecturers/Assistant Professors will be expected to teach on the BSc and MSc programmes provided by the School and also contribute to the research activity in the School. Candidates are sought with expertise in the current areas of research activity within the School - these are Information Security, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Software & Systems Engineering, and Networks & Distributed Systems. Applications will also be considered in areas where there is scope for collaboration with other Schools in UCD, e.g. Digital Humanities, Bioinformatics and Computers and Society.

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
