The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting a collaborative Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) for a fixed term of three years between J.G Hale Construction Ltd and Cardiff Metropolitan University.

The Company

J.G Hale Construction Ltd is a company based in Neath, South Wales.  It encompasses three main divisions including Hale Construction, Hale Homes and Seven Oaks Timber Frames Ltd. 

Hale Construction delivers major construction projects for Local Authorities, Housing Associations and the private building market, working with a wide range of subcontractors in the Neath and Swansea area.

Hale Homes is a luxury house builder with a focus on building high quality homes with the most sustainable sources available.

Seven Oaks manufactures innovative timber frames, roof trusses with strong environmental credentials and a closed panel exterior wall system (Trisowarm) with BBA certification. This enables Hale Construction to use the highest quality materials in its work.

Background

In February 2017, the Welsh Government launched its innovative housing scheme, to encourage innovative, sustainable prefabricated off-site construction and by 2020, the Welsh Government have set a target for 20,000 new affordable dwellings.

Role Summary:

The role is to help Hale rise to the Welsh Government challenge of creating quality, and quick-to-build sustainable dwellings for 2020 and beyond. 

Hale's vision for the future has three stages: 

Firstly, to increase their market share using the existing Trisowarm wall system. 

Secondly, expand the Trisowarm range of products by creating Triso-ceiling, Triso-floor and Triso-roof to add to the existing Triso-wall panels.  This would allow them to manufacture and supply entire prefabricated, flat-pack, Trisowarm energy efficient dwellings.

Thirdly, to help optimise the business performance by developing and implementing an Innovation Management System with feedback loops.  This will enable Hale to analyse each of their business operations to determine opportunities for refining and optimising functionality and performance. This project aims to enable Hale to take the market lead over their competition for prefabricated and modular timber buildings in Wales.

This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to work with one of Wales’ leaders in prefabricated buildings that are designed, manufactured and constructed in Wales, with the support and expertise of a multi-disciplinary team from Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Cwmni ydy J.G Hale Construction Cyf wedi’i leoli yng Nghastell-nedd, De Cymru. Mae’n cwmpasu tair prif adran yn cynnwys Hale Construction, Hale Homes a Seven Oaks Timber Frames Ltd. 

Mae Hale Construction yn cyflenwi prosiectau adeiladu mawr ar gyfer Awdurdodau Lleol, Cymdeithasau Tai a’r farchnad adeiladu breifat gan weithio gydag ystod eang o is-gontractwyr yn ardal Castell-nedd ac Abertawe.

Ym mis Chwefror 2017, lansiodd Llywodraeth Cymru ei chynllun arloesol ar gyfer tai i annog adeiladu arloesol, cynaliadwy oddi ar y safle ac erbyn 2020, mae Llywodraeth Cymru wedi gosod targed newydd o 20,000 o dai fforddiadwy.

Yn ail, ehangu amrywiaeth cynhyrchion Trisowarm drwy greu nenfwd-Triso, llawr-Triso a tho-Triso i ychwanegu at y paneli-Triso sydd eisoes yn bodoli. Byddai hyn yn eu galluogi i weithgynhyrchu a chyflenwi tai pecynnau fflat, parod cyflawn Trisowarm sy’n effeithlon o ran arbed ynni.

Yn drydydd, helpu i optimeiddio’r perfformiad busnes drwy ddatblygu a gweithredu System Reoli Arloesol gyda dolenni adborth. Bydd hyn yn galluogi Hale i ddadansoddi pob un o’i weithrediadau busnes er mwyn pennu cyfleoedd ar gyfer mireinio ac optimeiddio ei bwrpas a’i berfformiad. Nod y prosiect ydy galluogi Hale i fod ar y blaen i’w cystadleuwyr yn y farchnad adeiladau pren, parod, yng Nghymru.
