We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow (90% full-time) in the University of Aberdeen Centre for Rural Health, based in Inverness. It is an excellent opportunity for career development in a research unit with an established reputation in trials of complex interventions. You will work co-ordinating a multidisciplinary team involved in establishing and running a randomised trial of a group-based parenting programme for families with children aged 6-18 months facing a range of psychological and social adversities.
It is anticipated that you will coordinate all aspects of the research project. Specifically, the Research Fellow will be responsible for:
You will be responsible to the lead of the Mellow Babies trial in respect of the general direction of the post, and to other senior staff in the context of specific assessments or other research/academic activities.
As this post is externally funded by NIHR it will be available for 50 months from 1 October 2018. There is a stop/go point at the end of May 2019: if recruitment rates fail to reach target the trial will be terminated at this point. This appointment will be made subject to the usual terms and conditions of employment of the University.
Salary will be on the Grade 6 salary scale (90% of £32,548 - £38,833 pro rata, per annum) and negotiable with placement according to qualifications and experience.
