The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching and curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and to supervise undergraduate and masters dissertations. The person appointed will be expected to conduct original research in appropriate fields and play a lead role in collaborative research projects, leading to high quality publications and grant income. The successful candidate will also be expected to assist with the administration of the Faculty of Science and Engineering in general and thus contribute to the faculty’s growth in the field of Aerospace Engineering.

Candidates must have a PhD degree and preferably postgraduate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline, preferable in aerospace or mechanical engineering, and excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Knowledge and experience of industrial design and manufacturing are necessary. Experience of supervising PhD and Master students and experience of teaching, tutorial or laboratory work at undergraduate and postgraduate level in an international English speaking institution are preferable.

Salary will be within the range of £35,550 – £47,722 per annum for assistant professor and £50,618 - £60,410 per annum for associate professor, depending on qualifications and experience (salary progression beyond this is subject to performance). In addition, an attractive package including accommodation allowance, travel allowance and insurance will be provided for international appointments.

The post will initially be offered on a fixed term contract with the University of Nottingham, Ningbo, China for a period of five years starting October 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter. This contract may be extended on an indefinite basis by mutual agreement.
