Fine Art at Newcastle seeks to appoint a full-time Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Art History who will contribute to the delivery, development and administration of Art History modules on the Fine Art BA undergraduate course. You will contribute to our team-taught first year programme, our Stage 2/3 modules, to our dissertation module and to the final year critical contextual writing module.
You should be responsive to the particular nature of teaching art history to students specialising in the practice of Fine Art. We are looking for an innovative approach to the teaching of art history and theory, and you should be able to demonstrate an awareness of contemporary critical issues in the subject.
You will have (or be close to completing) a PhD in Art History, or a related area, and will have experience of teaching at university level. We are looking for an art historian who will have a specialist area of research, as well as a broad knowledge of their discipline, and who would therefore be able to teach outside their specialist interest.
Informal enquiries concerning the position can be made to Richard Talbot, Head of Fine Art. Tel: 0191 208 6042 or email@example.com.
