Do you have the vision to help our students achieve great educational change? Do you have the experience, motivation and innovation to help all students identify as partners in their learning, providing varied opportunities for their voices to be heard?
We are entering a new and energising phase of Educational Engagement at UMSU and are recruiting to two posts that will form the core of our education work.
The Educational Engagement Manager and Coordinator will work together to lead the staff support for our ~1,200 elected Student Representatives and associated work (quality assurance/enhancement, curriculum change, student appeals and complaints) which contributes to student voices being at the heart of decision making.
The Education Team is part of a wider team (‘Education and Advocacy’), which brings together services relating to Advice, Campaigns, Liberation, Democracy and Exec Team support. This provides a significant opportunity for cross-team working enabling some amazing shared projects to empower our students at an individual, group and institutional level. The team is also connected to 3 externally funded, HEFCE projects including Diversity and Inclusion Ambassadors and, Post-Graduate Research Mental Health and Wellbeing.
You would be joining at a time that will enable you to build on some fantastic foundations with some really strong relationships with colleagues across the University and a desire to engage students in a progressive partnership approach.
Can you be part of the team to help us achieve our ambitious 2020 strategy?
For an informal conversation about either of the roles, please contact email@example.com (Head of Education and Advocacy).
