CAPSE is Wales’ only independent research, development, test and certification house undertaking cutting-edge research and knowledge transfer activities within the advanced automotive and power systems engineering sectors. CAPSE is experiencing a period of significant growth as it expands its testing and validation services to a wider group of commercial clients, assisting the automotive industry with its shift to all-electric and hybrid power chains.

As a result, CAPSE wishes to appoint an Operations Manager. The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day management of CAPSE’s commercial and research operations. This will include budgeting, financial management and control, procurement of equipment and consumables. It will also include project planning of commercial client work as well as logistics management to ensure that items for testing are received on time from clients. Financial reporting to the Management Group and the Board will be an important part of the role, and this will require close liaison with other parts of USW and in particular the Faculty, USW Commercial Services Office, the Finance Department, and the Estates Department.

This position is based at the Pontypridd (Treforest) Campus of the University of South Wales.
