Head of Student Support (Faculty of Business and Law)

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated individual to lead the work of one of the Open University’s four Student Recruitment and Support Centres.  Working in partnership with academic staff in the Faculty of Business and Law (FBL), the Head of Student Support (FBL) will be accountable for the  delivery of an appropriate curriculum-informed student experience to help students and prospective students make study choices leading to successful progression, qualification completion and student satisfaction.

You will have extensive experience of leadership in a multi-channel student support, customer service or contact centre environment, planning and performance managing to quality standards, motivating staff, developing and managing both direct and indirect reports. In addition, you will have experience of providing Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) or managing its provision, ideally in a Higher Education context.

You will possess highly developed interpersonal communication skills, with a proven track record of influencing, negotiating and establishing credibility with a wide range of stakeholders, in order to work co-operatively to achieve organisational goals and service levels. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to resolve complex organisational problems with expediency and sensitivity, combining strategic and operational perspectives to achieve an outstanding student-centred service.
