The Equality and Diversity team is part of Organisational Development, in Human Resources. The Human Resources Department is a strategic function which supports City’s core business through the development and implementation of policies which underpin its Vision & Strategy 2026.
Reporting to the Equality and Diversity Manager and working closely with the University Equality Committee, and Race Equality Charter Advisory Group, the post holder will assist with the delivery of the Equality and Diversity Strategy and there will be a focal point of Race Equality activity.
The role holder will support the development of the application process for the Race Equality Charter (REC) award at institution-level and will support Schools and Professional Services with race equality activity.
The REC Manager will work with senior staff and key stakeholders across City to ensure that REC actions are implemented and embedded in City’s policies, practices and communications.
Applicants will have experience of working in equality, diversity and inclusion with particular focus on race equality as well as knowledge and understanding of equality legislation.
Applicants will also have experience of applying for similar equality charter awards, such as Athena SWAN or Stonewall.
