This is an exciting opportunity for a Chemical or Process Engineer to join our diverse team in partnership with Torftech R & D Ltd. to develop an entirely new and unique platform microwave heating based technology with the potential to access a wide range of markets across sectors as diverse as steelmaking, nuclear, food, catalysis and energy.

These applications have significant promise at small laboratory scale with over 2000 journal papers published annually by global researchers. However, few if any, practical applications of microwave technology exist at a commercial scale at temperatures higher than 200°C. You will be supported to work on the design and scale up of a platform technology to address the challenges of high temperature processing using microwaves including both pilot plant and industrial based work across a range of end users.

This position has a £5,500 dedicated training budget tailored towards your personal development. This post is jointly advertised in collaboration with our industrial partner, Torftech R & D Ltd. and will predominantly be based at their site in Thatcham, Berkshire.
