About the role
A superb career opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual has become available within our Research Governance Office team for a Research Quality Assurance Officer. The Research Governance Office is an essential core resource for clinical and academic investigators and provides a wide range of services supporting the conduct of investigator-initiated clinical trials. We will rely on you to ensure that the rights, safety and well-being of subjects are protected, and that trial data are credible, accurate and verifiable in the source documents.
It will be your responsibility to ensure that clinical trials are being conducted in accordance with appropriate regulatory, ethical and quality assurance standards, contractual agreements, trial protocol, trial-specific processes and systems, SOPs, regulatory and ethical requirements and ICH-GCP guidelines. You will provide effective and comprehensive research governance support, ensuring clear, user friendly accessible processes, whilst providing robust compliance and reputational protection for the University.
To be considered for this post you will have a first degree and/or significant relevant work experience in a comparable professional setting preferably involving working in Research Governance or Clinical Trials Monitoring. You will also have in-depth knowledge and understanding of compliance and relevant legislation governing clinical trials. It is important that you have evidence of monitoring course attendance and experience of monitoring Clinical Trials of Investigational Medicinal Products (CTiMPs) (preferably in a Higher Education setting). This opportunity requires an individual who takes a precise and methodical approach to their work and has the ability to meet strict deadlines.

This is a full-time permanent position
The post is located at Leicester General Hospital Academic Department and the post holder will be expected to travel on occasion the main University of Leicester campus, other Leicester Hospital Campuses as well as travel to national sites participating in the trial.
