Assistant Professor in Theatre and Performance (11175-088)

£40,792 - £48,677 per annum (pro-rata)

Fixed-Term Position for 3 years working 18.25 hours per week

You will join a world-leading department dedicated to leading-edge learning, teaching, and research in theatre and performance. The Department is notably interdisciplinary and international in its outlook and activities. Your work and experience will enable you to undertake research, teaching, and administration in specific areas in the Department, and engage more broadly with our activities and ongoing development. You will contribute to the Department’s research profile through excellent publication/practice-as-research outputs, sustained research grant application, and a visible presence in national and international bodies that facilitate theatre and performance research activities. You will have a clear research agenda and a strategy for developing individual and collaborative research in the future. You will have a demonstrable ability to offer excellence in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Applications are welcome from individuals whose research and teaching interests are drawn from across the discipline of drama, theatre, and performance studies, but the Department would particularly welcome applications from candidates in the areas of applied theatre and/or contemporary performance practice. We are particularly interested in candidates who will be able to contribute to practice-based teaching within the Department.

Please note that this is a part-time (0.5) fixed-term post, available for three years. It is anticipated that there may be additional opportunities for work in the University during this period, but this cannot be guaranteed. The postholder will have access to extensive career support and development opportunities.

Closing Date: 29 September 2018
