We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented China-focused researcher to join our Prospect Research Team, part of the University of Oxford’s Development Office. This is a maternity cover post with a duration expected to be 11 months.
This is an opportunity to work in a successful team that plays a key role in the University’s fundraising, by identifying potential new donors and opportunities, undertaking due diligence, and researching and writing briefings.
The role involves desk-based research on donors and potential donors globally, with a particular focus on work related to China. We are looking for someone with excellent Chinese language skills, who understands and can translate and communicate the cultural nuances specific to this context.
You will have relevant research experience in a non-profit or business setting, and strong written and spoken communication skills. You will be able to build good working relationships with a variety of colleagues. Other essential qualities include strong organisational skills, the ability to meet deadlines, creative thinking whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail, as well as a commitment to high standards, a collaborative attitude and a flexible approach.
This is a full-time, fixed-term maternity cover post, anticipated to be from November 2018, based in Oxford. If it is not possible to appoint a candidate to fill the role full-time, we would consider making a part-time appointment (minimum 0.5FTE: 18.75 hours per week).
