The School of Life Sciences is at the forefront of research in the biological sciences in the UK, coming in the top 10 in the REF 2014.
We are looking for a motivated, hard working person to provide effective electronics and computer (software and hardware) support for teaching and research laboratories.
The post requires a proactive approach, initiative and the ability to work independently in a specialist area, but also to work within the broader workshop team and with academic and technical staff throughout the school. Having excellent inter-personal skills the post holder will also be highly organised with a positive and flexible approach to work in order to deal with a wide range of requests and tasks which arise in the diverse research and teaching areas within the school of life sciences.
The successful candidate will have experience of supporting and maintaining electrical/electronic equipment and computer/software systems, and will be knowledgeable of the relevant safety regulations and compliance requirements. The ability to facilitate the implementation of commercially available hardware and software systems to meet the needs of the school is also essential.
