At Heriot Watt University we are significantly investing in our support for research and innovation. The Head of Research and Business Development is a newly created and critical role, to take a lead in positioning the University to influence and respond to significant funding opportunities and to guide and support the delivery of our strategic ambitions in research. This position is essential for the University to achieve its strategic objectives in research excellence and increased research income. We are looking for an exceptional individual able to provide confident leadership across the University to help increase the quality and value of funding applications from all funding sources and enhance our collaboration with business. The Head of Research and Business Development will ensure specialised, professional advice is provided to researchers to assist the development and funding of research, support partnerships with business and embed good practice in managing projects across Heriot-Watt University. The post will report to the Director and will be responsible for a large a team of professionals. We are seeking an individual who will create and build key relationships and advise on strategic developments for the University.
