We are seeking to appoint an experienced professional to the role of Head of Postgraduate Admissions at the University of Bristol. Our central admissions team handles over 40,000 undergraduate admissions and our centralised and decentralised postgraduate teams handle over 30,000 postgraduate (taught and research) applications per year from home and overseas applicants.
The Head of Postgraduate Admissions is responsible for managing the in-year and next-year postgraduate admissions process, policy, procedure and people (management and development of all staff within the team), plays a key role in supporting the Director of Admissions to meet strategic and policy objectives within postgraduate admissions at the University of Bristol and will deputise for the Director as required.
The Head of Postgraduate Admissions will have expert knowledge of admissions policy and procedure and liaise regularly with academic and professional service staff within schools and faculties.
The ideal candidate for this position will have substantial relevant people and process managerial experience gained in a complex organisation, excellent knowledge of the higher education sector, an in depth understanding of university admissions and be able to command respect amongst academic and non-academic colleagues.
This is an exciting time for postgraduate admissions at the University. We have embarked on a programme of centralisation for postgraduate admissions and we are also implementing a new student lifecycle support programme which will include a new postgraduate application system. Both of which will deliver benefits to the efficiency of postgraduate admissions handling. The Head of Postgraduate Admissions will play a significant role in both as well as seeing an increase in team size over the next few years.
This post is full time with a start date of 1st November 2018.
