We are seeking to recruit a Resources Librarian to join our friendly library team. You will be responsible for the library management system and the support, administration and development of a broad range of digital services, platforms, software and tools including the provision of library web pages.

You will be expected to work closely with other Library staff, academic and other professional departments, to ensure that digital services meet the needs of students and staff across the University.

The Resources Librarian will also lead on and support the management of projects as appropriate, including: the implementation of a new library management system. This will involve regular contact and close ties with the IT department, as well as with colleagues throughout the library service, to ensure the new system is properly implemented and configured to meet the needs of the service.

You will be required to have knowledge and experience of administering a library management system, on line systems and e-resources, as well as knowledge of Meta-Data Standards eg MARC, RDM.   In addition, you will need to have knowledge of how to develop and support digital learning content and resources. You will need to be enthusiastic in contributing to our students’ educational experience and supporting our academic staff. The role will require the need to be accurate, organised and able to prioritise workloads within a busy environment.

Ideally, you will also have an understanding of the HE sector and have previous experience within a similar environment.

A postgraduate degree in Library/Information Science or a related discipline or equivalent experience is essential, as is a subject related qualification or professional membership accreditation.
