A postdoctoral Research Associate position is available for an outstanding and ambitious individual to undertake computational research on the implementation of SPH software on single and multi-GPUs.
The software has been developed on CPUs for SPH in Eulerian form enabling high-order flow modelling in complex domains. This is a parallel part of the project which will extend to thermal hydraulics and flow-induced vibration problems in nuclear applications. Existing GPU software for a single GPU will provide a start point for this position and be extended to multi-GPUs.
You should have, or be working towards, a PhD or equivalent in mathematics, physics, or engineering, and have specialist knowledge in GPU computing. Expertise in developing numerical methods and parallel code for research in fluid mechanics is essential.
You should be capable of working under your own initiative. Excellent communication and organisational skills are also required.
