This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced academic to join the Department of Post-Qualifying Healthcare Practice, within the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Birmingham City University.  The Department of Post-Qualifying Healthcare Practice is a thriving, innovative and dynamic environment that aims to provide high quality CPD for the global health workforce.  This commitment was recognised nationally, with the University being named ‘Best Post-Qualifying Education Provider’ at the 2017 Student Nursing Times Awards.

About the role

We are seeking a full-time Senior Lecturer in Health Research to support the growth of our post-graduate health provision.  In collaboration with other members of the Faculty team, the role carries responsibly for:

  • Module leadership of the MSc research methods module.
  • Contributing to the provision of research workshops for MSc dissertation students.
  • Supervision of students undertaking the MSc dissertation.
  • Through personal tutoring, provision of support and mentorship to international students undertaking the MSc Professional Practice programme.

About you

We are looking for someone who can enthuse and engage students, while also contributing to the Schools scholarly and enterprise activities.  Experience as an academic in Higher Education is desirable.  Credibility and proficiency in applied healthcare research is essential.  Ideally, you will hold a postgraduate degree, or PhD. The ability to work with a team is a core requirement, as are excellent IT skills.
