Our central purpose is to create, share and use knowledge to deliver equitable and sustainable futures around the world. Accordingly, we seek to recruit research and teaching colleagues with the drive, vision and talent to elevate our research activity and environment. We are looking for future colleagues who will lead and contribute to the development to world-class publications, creation of intellectual capacity through the generation of research funds and the delivery of new knowledge that has a discernible influence on academic thought and documented impact beyond academia. We welcome colleagues with a passion for student learning and a desire to enhance an inclusive community of learning, in and beyond the school.

Our strengths across the Arts and Humanities, Sciences and Social Sciences see us listed as a top 5 UK and top 100 global university with our students and our world leading academics sitting at the heart of delivering our ground-breaking work. As part of our ambitious strategy we are growing and we look forward to welcoming your application.
The Global Fellowship in Durham provides an opportunity for established academics to conduct research at the Durham University Business School in any area covered by the School. We expect to have up to three Fellowships, (dependent in quality of proposals) designed to produce work of the highest quality leading to scientific, societal and economic impact. These posts will be awarded to outstanding applicants whose research interests align with the research agenda of the Durham University Business School (https://www.dur.ac.uk/business/research/).
This initiative is part of the School’s ambition to be a Top 20 European Business School by 2027. The Visiting Professors will use their time at Durham University Business School to publish outputs (with co-authors in Durham) as part of the School’s community of scholars. Outputs could take a variety of forms, ranging from academic papers to blogs and articles aimed at the general public, to holding small events bringing together social scientists and key stakeholder groups. We welcome proposals based around either adding value to existing research, which could (though not a requirement) include some new research if it was to complement or support existing research.
Contributions to academic and particularly broader user impact are expected throughout the Fellowship. This could involve activities such as organising seminars or briefings to discuss research issues or to disseminate findings at different stages of the research to relevant stakeholders, or developing a discussion network based around the research issue.
