Salary: Grade 6 £26,243 to £30,395 per annum, with potential to progress to £33,199 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution.
Are you interested in working for a world top 100 University? We are looking for an experienced senior technician with extensive knowledge of the design, manufacture and optimisation of electrical machines and drives. You will have a Degree, Higher National Diploma or equivalent work experience in a scientific or engineering field. You will use your extensive knowledge and expertise in all aspects of the development and testing cycle of machines to support the work of post-graduate research students.
You will work with a well-connected team with world-leading reputations in Electrical Machines and Drives. The Group’s research interests encompass a broad range of real-world themes including wind-power generation, electric propulsion systems, electromechanical actuation systems, grid-scale energy storage and battery condition monitoring and management.
Health and Safety is paramount in this environment and the successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the existing departmental technical staff, to maintain safe working practices within the policies of the department, as directed by the Departmental Technical Manager.
