About the role

We are hiring a new Supporter Engagement Officer to take a lead role in the Philanthropy, Alumni and Community Engagement Team (PACE) in engaging and a growing pool of individuals, companies, and community groups and associations that have made donations to the University. You will assure appropriate recognition, build donor loyalty and help ensure the successful delivery of future capital and revenue appeals. We have just had two of our most successful years of fundraising yet, including raising over £4.5 Million in last year alone.

This is an exciting time to join the PACE team, and the University, as we commemorate the Centenary of our founding in 1918. The University of Leicester was founded nearly 100 years ago by members of the local community to honour loved ones who made sacrifices for World War I.

In this role you will use your strong planning, communication, and event delivery skills to build and develop relationships with alumni, key donors, volunteers and supporters through a comprehensive programme of events, communications and recognition activity. Your work will enhance our fundraising efforts and nurture supporter involvement in both financial and non-financial ways.

You will work closely with the Head of Major Gifts and Legacies, as well as other members of PACE and other appropriate departments within the University to research, develop and implement a wide-ranging events and stewardship programme including the engagement, cultivation and stewardship of current and prospective supporters.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will have a good working knowledge of the theoretical principles of high level stewardship and ‘hands on’ experience of planning and executing an effective programme of stewardship or events.

You will be self-motivated with the ability to show initiative and organise and prioritise own workload and think through solutions to problems independently, as well as having experience of stewarding one-to-one relationships with high net worth individuals.

This is a full-time permanent position.
