What you’ll do 

The BPP School of Business and Technology is recruiting for a Faculty Lecturer specialising in Business Analytics to teach across apprenticeship programmes which support learners in working towards completing their IT Apprenticeships. We are looking for highly motivated lecturers with specialist practitioner experience as a Business Analyst to bring high quality teaching and module leadership into the School.  

The role of the faculty lecturer is to develop and deliver engaging teaching and learning materials (across Levels 3 to 6) that ensure that learner’s in the School receive a premium education and learning experience. Initially the role will focus on development and then move onto a combination of development, enhancement and delivery. 

Lecturers will undertake a variety of duties including, but not restricted to, module leadership, managing learner cohorts, teaching (a mixture of on line via the Adobe Connect platform, and face to face at either the hubs or client sites). Faculty may also be required to support business development, program management and/or learner recruitment activities, such as attending client briefings and/or School open evenings. 

Responsibilities include:

  1.  Be accountable for high quality module learning and resource development, using relevant professional syllabus material to create high quality, engaging teaching and learning materials, including formative multiple choice and other assessment materials.
  2. Develop and deliver high quality and consistent teaching materials including detailed schemes of work, topic guidance, activity checklists, content, (including webinar slides and resources).
  3. Work with the Heads of Programme and Head of Quality Assurance to ensure that all teaching and learning is continuously improved.
  4. Act as an accessible and timely first point of contact for learners for module-related and study-related advice and support, facilitating study groups where appropriate
  5. Examining, assessment and marking within the relevant programmes. 

Role requirements 

  • First degree and/or professional qualification as appropriate
  • If candidate does not currently hold either a teaching qualification or HEA membership, a commitment to achieving these through BPP’s PGCPHE or Headway (BPP’s accredited CPD scheme) is essential
  • Significant Practitioner experience in Business Analyst roles
  • Experience of negotiation with and managing different stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • The ability to effectively plan, organise and prioritise workload
  • The ability to work well in a team and be collaborative
  • Excellent computer/IT skills
  • Self-motivated
