CASA is seeking to appoint two new open ended academic staff members who will undertake research and education activities in the broad area of Applied Urban Science and carry out associated enterprise, external engagement and institutional citizenship duties to support the department, faculty and institution. The post holders will be expected to continue building a strong research profile and will develop, shape and teach on existing and new courses in the department, as required. We are conscious that Applied Urban Science could encompass a range of different academic backgrounds and not necessarily those already represented in the department. We would encourage applications from academics with experience in any relevant area, and particularly those where we do not currently have significant strength.
The successful candidates will possess a PhD (or PhD nearing completion) in a relevant area. In addition they will be able to demonstrate relevant skills and experience in core areas such as Research, Education, Institutional Citizenship, and Enterprise and External Engagement. Posts will be appointed at Grade 7, Grade 8 or Grade 9 depending on experience and the successful candidates will be expected to meet a number of the essential criteria for each grade, depending on career focus.
