The Staff Counselling Service is recruiting a counsellor. The post holder will be available for five counselling sessions on Fridays between the hours of 8.30am and 4.30pm, working at the Moray House Lodge.
Applications are invited from qualified and experienced counsellors and psychotherapists to undertake individual work with University of Edinburgh staff members in this busy service. You will be educated to graduate level, have a recognised professional qualification in Counselling or Psychotherapy, with post-qualifying counselling practice, including experience working within a staff counselling service. You will be accredited by BACP (or equivalent) or be working towards accreditation.
You should be interested in working in a team, have a clear understanding of how the organisational context impacts on therapeutic decisions, knowledge of counselling in a workplace environment and be skilled in practising brief therapy. The University Counselling Service is accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
The role is contracted on a ‘Guaranteed offer of hours’ basis, and the hourly rate includes an annual leave allowance.
