The School of Sciences and Engineering at the American University in Cairo has an opening for one faculty position within its Construction Engineering Department at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor.
The successful candidate will contribute to teaching and research in the undergraduate major and graduate degrees, inclusive of interdisciplinary masters and PhD programs. In addition, the successful candidate will be encouraged to develop and/or teach course(s) in his/her area of expertise. The successful candidate for this position is expected to be active or capable of developing research and provide services in his/her field of specialization.
The successful candidate should have teaching and research experience in the areas of environmental engineering with focus on water resources and quality, as well as wet utilities engineering. S/he should be able to carry out research and supervise theses in water quality studies, assessment and remediation of hazardous sites, water quality management of open bodies and industrial establishments, and management of water-environmental safety and hazards. S/he is expected to teach engineering courses in his/her area of expertise and contribute to the graduate environmental engineering, built environment and environmental assessment.
PhD and experience related to the field cited above (Environmental/Water Engineering). He/she should have a demonstrated track-record of practice, teaching and/or research. A solid record of professional practical experience and established record in attracting funded research and scholarship is highly desirable.
